Top-down Dungeon Settlers settlement with bedrooms, kitchen, farm plots, and a glowing portal

Dungeon Settlers is a dark-fantasy strategy game by CanOpener: you raise a settlement on eroded land, then send a party of up to four into a permadeath dungeon. Combat is real-time with pause. Early Access opened on 4 September 2026 on Steam for Windows and macOS, with two full regions plus the Abyss. Start with the beginner guide, then plan rooms in the settlement guide, inspect talent rolls in recruiting, and study the race tier list. For the first elite, read how to beat the Red Monster Rat.

Quick start

A practical path from the support wagon to a stable expedition loop.

  1. 1

Claim the wagon and raise a workstation

Open the support wagon, place a Basic Workstation, and craft starter cloth plus arrows. The beginner guide lists the Main0–Main8 spine so you never stall on the first night.

  2. 2

Inspect recruits before you spend gold

Reveal hidden talents, weigh inscriptions, and mix Human and Lizardman diets. Details live in recruiting and the race tier list.

  3. 3

Build beds, a kitchen, and a research station

Sleeping on dirt is a mood tax. Follow the settlement guide so bedrooms, dining, and research stay online while parties leave.

  4. 4

Run short dungeon trips and rotate floors

Farm wood, grass, and easy kills, then leave before night and depletion hit. See dungeon expeditions and combat.

  5. 5

Level two settlers and prepare the first elite

Pray with lesser mana stones, spread levels, then fight the Red Monster Rat. Track remaining content on the roadmap.

FAQ

Wiki FAQ

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Where should a new Dungeon Settlers player start?

Read the beginner guide, then the settlement and recruiting pages before a long dungeon stay.

Is Dungeon Settlers a Roblox game?

No. It is a Steam Early Access title for Windows and macOS by CanOpener, published with WhisperGames. Buy it from the official Steam store page, not from lookalike sites.

Does the game have multiplayer?

No. Dungeon Settlers is single-player. The studio has said multiplayer is not planned for this title.

Which languages are supported?

This wiki supports: English, Français, Deutsch, Español. Configure locales in site.meta.json and run npm run generate:i18n.

How long is Early Access expected to last?

CanOpener currently expects about two years of Early Access, with extra regions, races, and Workshop support planned. Follow the roadmap and Early Access notes.

Ready to keep the clan alive?

Use the beginner guide for day one, then jump to combat tactics, mood and food, and the difficulty tool. Bookmark the roadmap while Early Access grows.
